According to the statement accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the government highlighted that the country is now an active participant in NASA's Artemis program through this national development. The ATENEA microsatellite, a 12U CubeSat, is tasked with measuring 'radiation levels from low Earth orbit to deep space'. Technical bodies such as IAR, the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), and the Argentine company VENG S.A. also participated. The presidential office's statement emphasized that Argentina is returning to the 'community of nations making history'. Buenos Aires, April 2 (NA) -- The President's Office reported that ground stations in Córdoba and Tierra del Fuego, belonging to CONAE, have successfully received signals and telemetry from the ATENEA microsatellite. The project consolidates cooperation with the United States and the international community. The management of Javier Milei defined this advance as the result of a 'paradigm shift' that seeks excellence and the country's global integration. The device will also evaluate components in extreme conditions and analyze GNSS navigation signals at high altitudes. The official statement highlighted that the project is the fruit of 'joint work by CONAE' alongside national universities such as UNLP, UNSAM, and FIUBA.
